Travel & Directions

The College of William & Mary is located in Williamsburg, VA. The conference will be held on College grounds in the Integrated Science Center within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg and many restaurants and hotels, including the Williamsburg Hospitality House where a room block has been reserved and a banquet will held on Saturday evening. Travel and campus information follows:

Travel Information: Williamsburg is situated on the Virginia Penninsula ~50 miles Southeast of Richmond and ~45 miles Northwest of Norfolk and can be easily reached via car, plane or train.

Car: Williamsburg is most easily reached via I64 East- or West- bound from Richmond or Norfolk, respectively. Maps and driving directions are available on the College of W&M web site. Parking is available at the hotel or at campus parking garages (see detailed campus map).

Plane: There are three airports in the vicinity of Williamsburg. Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport is only 30 miles from Williamsburg, while travel from Richmond International or Norfolk International Airports is ~1 hour. Airport driving directions are available on the College of W&M web site. Car rental and cab services are available at all airports and shuttles can be arranged in advance through Tidewater Coach.

Train: Amtrak train service is available with a stop directly in Williamsburg and a short walk away from the College and the Williamsburg Hospitality House. High speed rail is available traveling South until Washington, D.C. after which rail lines are slower into Richmond and Williamsburg.

Campus Information: The College of W&M campus is 1,200 acres including Lake Matoaka and the College woods. Most conference events, including conference check in, talks, lunch and continental breakfasts will be held in the Integrated Science Center. The poster session and banquet will be held that the Williamsburg Hospitality House.
